Zolisa Xaluva Leaves “Gomora”
After two seasons, actor Zolisa Xaluva has left the television show, “Gomora”.
According to reports on Sunday, 24 April, Xaluva – who plays high school principal Melusi Dlamini on the show – quit the show following disagreements with the producers.
Linda Matsolo, a publicist for “Gomora”, confirmed the 40-year-old’s exit, albeit without explaining the reason why.
According to one source, Xaluva was not shy to share his misgivings about his storyline with the producers: his current storyline saw Melusi killing Phumlani after the latter attempted to do away with his love interest, Thathi.
However, another source claims that the producers could not stand Xaluva’s straightforward personality and had wanted him gone for a long time.
“Producers have been trying to get rid of him, but [‘Gomora’ broadcaster] MultiChoice refused to let him go,” the source explained. “But eventually they got the go-ahead. He is a brilliant actor, but there are things producers can’t tolerate.”
